Animal Luarantine Laboratory
The laboratory, about 1000 m2, was set compliant with China GMP standard, which consists of serology section, molecular biology section, veterinary section, virology section and bacteriology section. Among those sections, the bacteriology section is P2 bio-safe laboratory, while the virology section is P3 bio-safe laboratory. The animal quarantine laboratory is able to carry out series of testing services with competitive instruments, including industrial mini VIDAS, ELISA micro-plate reader, well wash machine, Nano-Plotter machine, gene chip scanner, gradient PCR, fluorescence PCR, GSG-99 visual communication system, inverted microscope, fluorescence microscope, frozen super-speed centrifuge, ultra speed refrigerated centrifuges, biology Security tanks, CO2 incubators and more.
The laboratory has undertaken 15 research projects from the provincial division of science and technology and Zhuhai Science & Technology Bureau, 11 items of standard-formulating from General administration of quality supervision, inspection and quarantine (AQSIQ). It has been rewarded 2 second prizes, 1 third prize of Guangdong regional Technology Advancement Award; 5 prizes of Zhuhai Technology Advancement Award. In especial, the facility on the identifications of foot and mouth disease, avian influenza, bovine, sheep and goat- derived material in feeds and cosmetics appeal in the system is outstanding in the AQSIQ system.
